In 1640 ervoer Georg Auer, een boer in Haraberg, zelf de genezende kracht van het water uit zijn bron toen hij genas van een pijnlijke ziekte aan zijn ledematen in combinatie met constant gewichtsverlies. Hij ziet zichzelf verschillende keren in een droom bij de bron voor een stenen 'Creutz- of Marterzuil', die hij na zijn genezing heeft opgericht. Het aantal pelgrims neemt snel toe als gevolg van deze gebeurtenis. De Brunnenthal Concertzomer is jaar na jaar een cultureel hoogtepunt in de gemeente. Liefhebbers van "oude muziek" kunnen in de barokkerk luisteren naar de klanken van internationaal bekende artiesten.
