In het drie verdiepingen tellende renaissancegebouw uit de tweede helft van de 16e eeuw, waarvan de gevel en het portaal in de barokperiode werden gerenoveerd, bezocht Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart de graaf van Thun en componeerde hij de "Symfonie van Linz". Een buste van Mozart door W. Ritter (1957) en een muziekinstallatie staan bij de ingang van het gebouw. Binnen in het gebouw is een prachtige, drie verdiepingen tellende binnenplaats met bogen uit de 17e eeuw. Een gedenkplaat herdenkt de ontwerper van de Pöstlingbergspoorweg, ingenieur Josef Urbanski, die hier van 1893-1895 woonde.
